The Cold Steel® American Lawman Knife is a very good general purpose and self-defense knife. It is very well constructed and has a strong rocker back-lock. The knife does not have an open assist, nor will it open with centrifugal force. But, opening the knife one-handed is reasonably easy. With a few minutes of practice, I could readily open the knife one-handed with either hand (without having to make any pivot screw “tension” adjustments). The scales are very comfortable, yet provide excellant traction that remains very good even when the knife is wet.
In my opinion, the American Lawman Knife is as good as Cold Steel® says it is… maybe better!
